Hi, I’m Liz

How I discovered that looking after myself didn’t mean I was selfish

I know what it’s like to struggle with burnout.

I was great at being there for others, but I was last on my To Do list because I felt guilty and selfish if I put myself first. I used to find it hard to say ‘No’, set boundaries, or ask for help. I knew that I should take care of myself, and I wanted to … but doing it was a whole other thing.

And in the end, that lack of Self Care contributed to burnout and illness.

Sound familiar?

Many of us have been taught to believe that you should always be helpful or give it 150%, and we feel guilty if we don’t. The result? You end up at the bottom of your To Do list and miss out on what you want or need.

And that’s a sure fire path to burnout.

I discovered that looking after myself was NOT in conflict with being a good parent, partner, friend or practitioner. In fact, I found that when I looked after myself, I had MORE to share with people, so we all benefited!

I know it’s often difficult for women to navigate the competing demands of career, parenting, relationships. But you can do it in a way that looks after your own needs, and aligns with your values, so that everyone wins.

One of my favourite things is seeing my clients light up when they let go of self-sabotaging patterns that were keeping them stuck. I’m passionate about helping you flourish and live with ease instead of struggle.

That’s why I created Vibrant Wellbeing so I could share with you what I learnt the hard way. You’ll have more to enjoy and to share by being as kind to yourself as you are to others. I believe the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, so I know that together we can make a difference to each other and the world.

You can find me connecting with my community, it's fundamental to wellbeing

I love the way our mindset and beliefs affect our emotions and physical state

I strongly believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts

Meet Liz O’Brien

Belief Architect

Liz just loves the way people light up and lighten up when they recognise that their old ways of thinking and behaving come  from old, limiting beliefs keeping them stuck. She’s passionate about helping people shift their mindset & create new beliefs so they can be the person they want to be and live with ease instead of struggle.

She’s warm and funny, insightful and down to earth. She helps women navigate the competing demands of career, parenting, relationships and looking after their own needs in a way that aligns with their values and reduces stress.

Meet Clancy

He’s my furry office assistant and general companion, as well as unofficial therapy dog. Clancy reminds me how to be in the moment and and not sweat the small stuff, or when it’s time to take a break from work and head outside for a walk.

You’ll meet him in our sessions – he always makes a screen appearance on Zoom by standing up to greet my clients when he hears their voice.

He’s definitely one of the ways I include joy and laughter into a busy day to keep things balanced so I don’t burn out.

A few of our favourite things

Clancy's favourite thing to do is walking along the beach, meeting other dogs and their humans.

Clancy loves lying on his beanbag by the window and checking out who's passing by.

Clancy and I both love dancing in the kitchen to Aretha while I'm cooking dinner - it adds a certain pizzaz to the flavour, somehow 😉

My perfect rainy afternoon is getting lost in a good novel while Clancy keeps my feet toasty-warm. It's even better with a cup of tea and homemade cake!

I love the way my cactus garden outside my house has become a bit of a community space to share cuttings and chat with the people in my neighbourhood.

What People Say

A few months after I started working with Liz on Psych K, the things I wanted to achieve when I first came to her just started appearing in my life. The process seemed strange to me at first and difficult to believe it could really work, but looking back I have no doubt that it worked. I didn’t see the effects within days, but within 2-3 months important things started changing in my life. Liz is warm, intelligent and very intuitive and has a gift for identifying those underlying beliefs that hold us back. She has an uncanny ability to cut through the confusion of events I tell her about and gives voice to exactly what I need to hear. I highly recommend her.
